Where are those who held signs high
boasting of their support for you??
Where are those who screamed during rallies
saying they choose you?
Where are those who created laws
stating they are for you?
But when you leave the place of decision
who is with you?
When your lap soaks up your tears
who is there to comfort you
When your self-worth flows out of your body
who is there to lift you up?
When your decision haunts you and robs you of your slumber
your peace
who can comfort you?
Where are the crowds?
Busy hooking another for their lies
