When I was 12
I could no longer be 9
When I celebrated 20
I said goodbye to 15
When I welcomed 30
16 was no more
Sorrowfully I observed the arrival of 45
truly 7 has faded away
What is the point? Every level of growth presents two things promotion and cessation
I can't be 37 and still hold onto 19
I won't succeed at 41
If I don't leave 23 behind
The number grows and my wisdom multiplies
So does the distance from my childhood
Somethings are too precious to lose
To valuable to let go
But time will cause forgetfulness to steal the potency of the moment
Its just the way of things

The Little
Beware the Little and its unseen mark
The just one and its subtle deception
there can never be just one
even if it were true
its victim would crave more
thus the trap laid
well baited and packaged secure
the prey is seldom aware of the danger
Because who fears just one?
Take caution with the small
They seldom gather alone
Never apologize for taking control
that is your gift
if exercised properly
it will serve to maintain a healthy distance
from diversions, side tracks or un-reclaimable dreams
Your future will thank you
and your regrets will number low

Creativity is...
Creativity is sometimes
Violent, turbulent
It contains a certain level of inflexibility
A lack of conformity
But it is never short of energy
Or beauty
Traits of uniqueness are its mark
Individuality is its form
Inspiration is its tool
Its audience is never limited
Because it uses know definition
Nor separation
Prejudice
or its brother the 'ism'
Clear is its message
Always understood by the beholder

Tis' The Season ......For A Great Many Things
Joy to the World
But mine is crushed
The Lord has come
Has He forgotten Me
Let the Earth receive her King
Does anyone even know me
Will anyone miss who I have loved
Let Every Heart
Mine is Broken
Prepare Him Room
And Heaven and Nature Sing
And Heaven and Nature Sing
Grief has taken my voice
Joy to the World the Savior Reigns
Let men their songs employ
Man is senseless in his murderous acts
While fields and floods
Rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy
How long do I wait for My justice
How long do I abide in my pain
Repeat the sounding joy
He rules the world with truth and grace
God have you forgotten me
And makes the nations prove
I feel so alone
The glories of His righteousness
Does anyone know..does anyone care
And wonders of His love
Ash fills my mouth
Death has marked this season
And wonders of His love
What do I have to celebrate
And Wonders of His love
There are no presents under my tree
No dinner on my table
No table in my house
No house for my table
Show me Joy for my world
Share with me the Love of the Savior
Cover me with your Prayers..even if I reject you
See past my hurt
Don't be intimidated by it
I just need to be reminded..
That the Great I am
Is for me
Not against
He came to give us this season
I and my brethren: Want and Need are the reason
for the Birth
Share with me Your joy
Help me to see life
Help me to desire it again
Give to me out of your stores
I need some of your Joy
Even if I don't ask for it..
I am a stranger
You don't know me
But I am your brother

A Prayer For The Forgotten... Promises For the Redeemed
A Prayer For The Forgotten...Promises For The Redeemed:
Father, I come to you Lord God; King of Kings and Lord of Lords! The Most High! The Lion of Judah! The only One Who Is Worthy!
Lord Thank you! Before it was me it was always you; Before the Sun learned how to set You Are
Before man You Are, After man You Will Still Be
Their is so much we have done wrong..to ourselves to our brethren; we have forsaken your commandments to Love Our Brother and Cause Him No Harm
We have allowed paper to outweigh blood; we see our sons struggling, fighting enemies and demons they were never warned about; And yet we still withhold our knowledge of you.
We watch our daughters destroy themselves from the inside out. We teach that CHOICE, CONTROL are more important than responsibility, Chasity and obedience.
We make messes and expect You to tidy them up; Forgetting You Are God not our maid
We worship the creation and dismiss the Creator
We choose to be our own gods
when we can't even choose to live; we can't order breathing nor place a living soul in a human shell.
We can't order bones and sinew to connect nor tell the brain how much electricity to use or how to capture a thought
We ignore You and place faith in the rules that govern us given to us by You. Discarding the fact that You set up structure that You bring Peace to our Chaos! That You are the FATHER of lights for the junkie, prostitute, confused, enslaved, abused, orphaned, abandoned, hopeless; depressed and the lonely.
You are God! You are Jehovah! You are HOLY; You are Mighty
You can save the bigot
The molester
the thief
the liar
the hypocrite
the ungodly
the hard to love
the mentally unstable
the chemically dependent

You Have Come to Save us All...from Satan; Eternal Death and Sin. Father open a thirst in all of us to KNOW YOU; to study YOUR WORD to Love each other as You do. To serve one another as You desire us to.
Abba Father, remind us to show Grace because we have been given it; remind us to be merciful because we have been shown mercy; encourage us to love because we know You and You are Love! Strengthen us to be Holy because You are Holy and that Is what You call Your Redeemed! Fill us with your boldness to go places that we wouldn't normally to serve those who we would usually ignore. Remind us to not think more highly of ourselves because You Have NO respect of Person.
And Lord, when death comes; when our lives fall apart God when our dreams are crushed when our desires, goals and attainments all measure sum zero; when our health fails; when persecution is the accepted and evil is the norm..Mighty God remind us that we are Visitors not Residents; that we are travelers not citizens; that we are not our own but Yours bought with a most heavy price; That we are guests not dwellers. That we are of Your Kingdom and to pass from one to the other is not the end.. only the beginning..If we serve You
There is no redemption without You
There is no forgiveness without You
There is no victory without You
There is no Peace without You
There is no sustaining power without You
There is no Order without You
There is NO life without You
There is no renewal without You
Heal, miraculously
Show yourself strong
You are Mighty
You are Awesome
You are righteous
You are Holy
You are Worthy to Be Praised
Hallelujah through our tears, our struggles, our challenges, our losses, our defeats, our disappointments! Hallelujah You are So much more than all of that! You are The Lord of Lords!!! King of All. The Mighty GOD! Who calls forth with His Mouth and Breathes life into creation! My God Thank you! For all that You have done and For the Mighty Things YOU Will Do! Thank you for fighting For Your People! You are Worthy! Worthy, Worthy! Holy is the Lamb of God Who was slain so I may have Victory! So we maybe Victorious..
I trust You God..Even when I don't Understand
I love You God even when I am afraid
I want You even when I am mad
I know You can Heal the lost. I know You love the broken. I know you can speak a Word and the afflicted will be cured. I also know that Your Will is not my wants.
I still Love You
..I have tasted the Lord and Saw that He was Good
Until the day of Your Unveiling of wonders beyond us all
God I still will cry out to You
and thank you

Perspective II
Don't you love a good cliff hanger???
No? Neither do I honestly..but it does keep me hungry for the continuation of a good read. When last we met we spoke of death and its gifts. I will not recant on that statement. Death does leave gifts it doesn't matter that we don't welcome them.
So far in my life time I have buried: my natural father; a son; uncle; grandfather; paternal grandmother; beautiful mother n law; an aunt and a host of friends along with warm acquaintances. Some separations Have just tore me up. I didn't care if I saw another sunrise...so great was the pain. But God!! He saw me through it all!
No matter the warning, sometimes through dreams or visions I am never prepared for the actual departure. I always try and guess who is leaving next based on age or health but I am always surprised..never pleasantly. Usually, after the initial shock of it all come the fond memories, loving thoughts and the best of all gifts perspective.
Think about it.. the thoughts of the deceased person, unless shared, dies with them. Their plans, fears, both the to-do and bucket list disappear. From dust we came and from the ground we will return. Man (human beings) is a living soul. Once the natural portion of that man ceases to function the soul lives on either in Glory (Heaven with the Lord) or Hell there is no in between. No purgatory and no do-overs (re-incarnation).
What is left is perspective. Perspective helps order priorities. Which in turn helps us govern our conduct that much better. Home-goings always make me treat my fellow man a little kinder. Why? Because whatever is going on with that person at the moment where we intersect I can make THE difference. I can choose to leave him/her with a good positive memory or I can add to their weight. If I knew that they only had hours left to walk the earth, would I fuss because they cut me off in traffic? Would I become impatient if they had 30 items in a 20 or less check out? Would I lend a hand to him when he seemed to be in a jam? Of course I would! You probably would too!
Sometimes perspective is adopted as a way of life; sometimes it is lost on the foolish. Time always tells.
I choose to use the pain of my loss to remind myself that life is temporary. Daily we each get an opportunity to leave the world a little better than we found it. None of us can stay forever, but our deeds/;kindness, love, giving and selflessness or self-centered, selfish, mean, low, callous or bias will travel on long after we have departed.
This Holiday Season make it one that marks the begging of a new era of perspective! Use it as a platform to leave a positive and fruitful legacy! Something someone else can build off of and continue your good work.
Absent from the body means you are present with the Lord. I can't answer for you but I want Him, in my time of sunset, to welcome me into His kingdom. I want those who live beyond me to take what I have started and continue to pay-it forward so a whole new generation can be introduced to the God we serve via kind acts, thoughtful deeds and meaningful fulfillment of our tasks.

Death,
Even when it is an expected visitor, seldom is it ever a welcomed guest...
-sj
Perspective I
Death is not a subject that most people would be comfortable speaking about. Matter of fact it is a topic of distaste or dread. One would expect a elderly citizen to speak candidly about death, final expenses, service arrangements and inheritances to their loved ones. Not to the parents of a critically ill newborn or a high school athelete at his/her prime. But death has no such boundaries as age or timing. It is its own entity.
Even if death is soon expected no one really feels prepared for it when it arrives. The very thought of having to deal with the loss and separation of a loved one (related or otherwise) truly is unnerving. However, it is a very real part of our existence. Everything has its time to die or to live; to be born or turn an age; just like the seasons every part of our lives has a silent order that we can neither control nor predict. We can only weather the course as our circumstances dictate.
We are quickly approaching the winter holiday season. For Christians (people who believe and worship Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior) it is a time for festivities, which often spread outwardly to different circles of people. So don't be surprised if all of a sudden a stranger may ask to pay for your morning cup of coffee..it could happen. Even though our calendar was adopted from the early Romans, the exact date of the birth of Christ is not known but we set aside December 25th every year as a day of remembrance and celebration that Christ came to earth to rescue all who will accept Him from sin and death. In this case death has a dual meaning the first is the natural death that 99.885% of us will face when our physical body is separated from the living soul that was housed within it; and secondly a spiritual death which is existence (short and tormented) without God. Those who choose not to accept Christ essential reject Him and He honors their choice. God does not send people to Hell. People send themselves.
I could base a dissertation on that alone but that is really not my point. My focus is solely on the physical death of a human being and the gifts that experience can bring. Yes I said gifts. Not all gifts are good nor desired but death leaves each of us, who have had the pleasure (sarcasm) of dealing with it, something we hadn't had before. Why would I bring up such a morbid topic on the eve of Holiday Season? Good question. Better answer...

Tip Of A Berg Pt. 2
Another Monday Football Game in America and the National Anthem was sung with soul, vigor and passion. The men and women in uniform looked outstanding in their presentation of the flag. People were standing, hats removed from the heads of citizens and the respect was heart-felt all around.
I have a lot of admiration and respect for the players who pray on the field before the game, but that is rarely shown. Instead the camera pans over the teams and there are several players who opted to use their right of free speech and peaceful demonstration to protest the Flag given the recent, but ever present, racial issues in America.
Here is a summary of my thoughts:
1. Players and any other citizen of the United States have the right to protest or show support for causes that are important to them.
a. Does that include the protesting of the American Flag? Yes it does
b. But it begs the question of should you do something because you can? Kinda like winning the fight but losing the war type scenario. No I do not condone the kneeling to the Flag, I think it is disrespectful to the Servicemen and Women who fought and died for this Country because they believed their individual acts would lend to the positive change that they sought.
2. When I see a player exercising his/her rights on this matter, I often wonder what are you doing personally to bridge the divide? What acts of service are you committed to helping the Black Community and Law Enforcement be better together than separate?
a. Are you not involved? That would be a tremendous waste of energy, time and talent. Because you can use your resources to help lend some Star Power to the cause.
b. Do you take a knee with the understanding that our ancestors, many of which were treated inhumanely and with extreme prejudice, still fought, were physically beaten, maimed, killed or scarred mentally and ostracized socially for the God-Given Right to be recognized not as a Secondary Citizen but a Citizen of these United States? Do you understand the struggle for our kind to rise to a status of respect in our Home Country?
c. It wasn't fair but we marched for the right to VOTE
d. It wasn't fair but we made our voices known to have the right to equal housing/equal pay/punishment for those who operate through racially motivated tactics.
3. I also wonder if the other Races who stood by us and benefited from our struggle as they helped us achieve the attainment of our rights are recognized as you kneel? Whites, Latinos, Orientals, Pacific Islanders and last but far from least our Native American Brothers & Sisters. Do you kneel for those who were/are comrades in arms?
What is my point, you may ask, which is a completely valid question. My point is only together do we succeed. The more division the weaker, as a nation, we get. If we are weak then we are ripe for Judgement and Conquest. Have you looked at Russia and her allies? Not to take the attention off of the issues of Police Brutality, Racism, Separatism and Cronyism- But our sometime friends, but always first to be an enemy are amassing and planning and we are still stuck on the same STUPID issues that we can't seem to move past. I wonder if those who are kneeling would take into account that planters are paid to come and start riots and violent protest; working up groups of people into an unruly mob of Non-Think and destruction and they are of the same color of you and I. While the folks in power are not moved by the random acts of violence and the terrorizing of our own neighborhoods by our OWN.
I look at the athletes who participated in the Summer Olympics. How proud they were to walk under their Nation's banner. Especially South Africa and all of our Sister Countries with so much civil unrest and class division and violence. But yet they still stood with and for their Home. I remember the stories of Jackie Robinson and the Tuskegee Airmen, George Washington Carver, Martin Luther King Jr. and so many other greats who showed that they were better than they were being treated and earned the respect, admiration and more importantly the legislation that made them equal freemen.
Have you forgotten that it was because of them that you are afforded the opportunity to suit up and play on a field recognized as a member of a group not a citizen of a race.
I wonder will you stand with me as I protest this Nation taking away my Rights to Worship freely as I see fit? To Honor the Only Living God and His Son Jesus Christ. Do Black Lives Still Matter Then? Yes, they do but not more than anyone else's. My God says a house divided can not stand..America is divided and I ask you what is your kneeling doing to lessen to chasm?
We should not ignore the issues of America..never.. but we as being more educated than our predecessors and having more economic opportunists and more advances in the modern world, should use our privileges responsibly and that starts by showing unity for the only home any of us have ever known. While fighting for the rights of all our citizens especially the poor and disenfranchised.
So I guess I would answer your question with a question..does your kneeling come with a hand to help lift and rebuild or an empty act lacking action to match your social compassion?
-sj

Tip Of A Berg Pt 1
As I am sure it is with you as it was with me all of the events of the past 10 days swirling around in my head. Totally lost sleep over it; however, being awake in the stillest of hours allows one to think. To commune with God, to pray and conduct an honest assessment. So it wasn't a really bad thing.
As the news continued to multiply over the unfortunate deaths of two unarmed men and the subsequent fall-out: rampage, opinions; riots; hate speech; call to arms; and more division; I thought to myself REALLY?
How much longer are we going to look only at the outcome and not the root cause? The cause ladies and gents is sin. Ever since Adam & Eve were ejected from the garden a Pandora's box full of ills has plagued our society. Murder being one of the oldest but not before disobedience which kicked it all off.
Before I dive any further into this discussion it is important that a few points are made clear:

Ever since Adam & Eve were ejected from the garden a Pandora's box full of ills has plagued our society. Murder being one of the oldest but not before disobedience which kicked it all off.
Before I dive any further into this discussion it is important that a few points are made clear:
- Enforcers who break the law should be subject to the same justice as other law breakers
- The culture of law enforcement needs to be inundated with change that reflect 1. their communities they serve 2. the consistent use of tech: body cams, dash cams (not performing acts outside of view)
- More training on when to use deadly force and when not obviously needs to happen
- Enforcers know who the loose cannons are in their unit or battalion..we need whistle blowers to help us help them help the community
- Fear is never an instrument of positive change
- Community relations is SORELY needed; trust has been broken and needs to be bridged starting with diversity on the force and accountability for wrong doing.
- Communities need to stop listening to ANTAGONISTS; they are about their own agenda not the betterment of a community
- Communities should think twice before allowing all of the negative emotions to flow into a radical, militant group full of diversionary tactics
- Community leaders: Speak up, Step up, Lead by example: if your ward is poor ... choose to cut as much overhead as possible including not giving yourself a raise so that money can be filtered into opportunities
- Education, Education and Education lead to better choices, opens up more opportunities and equates to better solutions.
- Leaders lead start planting firms who are willing to take on new construction in desolate areas to rebuild and reclaim the community with jobs and forward growth
- More town hall meetings where progress is measured and presented: people know when smoke is being blown their way. If you no longer care any more for the people but just the check please vacate the office.
- Community, vote, use the tools that are available choose civic leaders who actually have a heart to serve someone besides themselves. Be involved know what is on the ballot. Come out and vote like it is a Prince Concert..
- Community STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN: Stop generalizing All cops are not bad cops. Cops are individuals and individuals make the choice to be good or bad. But not all. Look if you see something going down and it doesn't feel right, video, video and video. Listen to an Instructor or Professional or Respected member of your community instruct you on how to handle yourselves if you are ever confronted by the police no matter the reason.
I am saying that these individuals lack of compliance is what led to their untimely departures? NO! Arming oneself with knowledge is step 1 of protection.

All about The Use
Anger is not bad
It can fuel my hands to create change
It can purpose my mind to attack on
the level intellectual
It motivates me to persevere until I see
What I am trying to reach
It can make me move to be my brother's keeper
And a lonely child's protector
A voice for the most vulnerable among us
Anger forces my view to narrow, then widen
And narrow again
Sometimes the answers are in plain sight
Anger can pull me into educating, sharing
And gaining allies for a cause they didn't know existed
Anger takes the sheets off and exposes my emotions
Raw, Naked, Untamed, Powerful
But if I leave it in that state it will Destroy Me
And deny Respect to my Sphere
Leaving no Inheritance
However, it still isn't a bad thing
It can't be bad nor good; it is a tool
It's all about the use of it

Broken Faces
Just a thought:
If I don't care about you Man of Clay
Why do I care when you set your house on
Fire?
If I don't care about you Woman of Earth
Why would I care when you tear up
Yo Block?
If I don't care about you Child of Fire
Why would I care about your line
When it doesn't cross mine?
None of your actions Harm Me
None of your threats move me to Change
None of your tears fill me with Compassion
So Answer me This..Why do you Waste Your Passion
On Acts that destroy and not build?
Perhaps if I saw Your Energy, Your Will, Your Intellect,
Your desire, Your hands Lead Me To The Promise Land
*how to care, * brotherly love, * human compassion, * how not to racially profile
* how to understand your speech, * how to earn your trust and respect, * how to build a partnership,
*how to work with you not against you, * how to show me the door when I don't comply
Then I would be more apt to follow

Reprise
The summer has unofficially come to an end! The family has returned from its' whirlwind trip to the Midwest; and we are struggling, just like many of you, to adapt to our new schedule. On the bright side, Myles did not fight us to go to school..come to think of it he was rather excited! WHAT????? This is the same kid who would hold onto his bed like a cat; screaming, kicking and falling out because he was over school and had terrible separation anxiety. Thank you Jesus that he has grown out of all of that. Thank you God that you have shown me his triggers to prevent meltdowns in the first place.
Oh where was I? Oh yeah the whole schedule thing.. I thought we were doing quite well considering we just touched down on Monday and school began on Tuesday. Nate is a soldier even though he has a harder time adapting to change than Myles. Vacation was amazing. I love the hometowny-ness of Greenville. People still speak to you whether they know you or not; folks try to know the names of your children and are very involved in their day to days. Vegetable and fruit stands are plenty and there are not alot of restaurants around because people cook and still share Sunday dinners. That piece of Americana has not changed despite the chaos going on around it.
I came to be refreshed. To touch my home base. To be filled with the familiar sites and smells that go along with it. I love sitting with my Parents watching television, cooking or dining. Listening to funny stories that live in our past; hearing the rambunctious laughter as we meddled thru the details of one tale while quickly recounting another. That is my home.
I soaked up all of that positive goodness because I knew when I returned home my battles would be waiting for me.

Weighted Breathes
If all you can do is breathe
Then do what you must
To keep your movement
In a forward progression
Challenges are impartial
They are Unfeeling
They don't discriminate
They just are
I wish I could take them from Me
From You
But that is not how we grow
That is not how we learn
That is not where we show our Strength
So breathe, Child
Betta is around the Corner
And Yesterday will swallow
The struggle of today
That is the nature of Time
Breathe without weight of Regret
Acknowledge what is needed
But don't stay where you shouldn't
Accept your self as self who makes
Errors
But breathe to release frustration before it
Turns into Merciless Conviction
Breathe, knowing you are loved
With the Dawn you get to start again...

This is The Day...
Today was a good Day
The Lord made it and I choose to Rejoice in It
Today was still a good Day
I choose to smile
I choose to Worship
I choose to embrace the Day
I remembered you and my heart did ache
I longed for the hope and joy that a new life brings
To smell your hair, To hear your cooe's
Even a cry..anything
My tears flowed without hesitation
Missing you almost overwhelmed me..
But still the day went on
And I choose to smile
There is not a day that I don't think of you
Knowing this is not the end
But the Beginning
It brings me comfort
It fills me with strength
To continue every Day
Today is a good Day!

Pt 2 Self - Suffiency
The last segment concluded that almost all of us (parents) desire to see our children achieve a certain level of self sufficiency . We relish their growth physically and the progress they make mentally. Especially when connections are established. None of this is bad, quite the contrary, it is great!
But when our kids start developing beyond our reach then our concerns grow. If they suddenly do not desire our company or feel like they can do it all on their own. Part of us grows resentful at the lock out. We scramble to try and look ahead to warn them of any potential pitfalls; We gain headaches trying to logically understand why they reject our wisdom, advice, companionship, guidance or whatever. What is so puzzling about the fact that we want the BEST for them?
Then it hits us..they are operating in self-sufficiency. They are exercising their right to make choices as they see fit. Despite our protests or warnings they create their own paths. It is in their nature to do so. Rebellion and pride are as much a part of us as the need to succeed apart from our mothers and fathers.
Even though there is no way to measure the fullness of an action or the future consequences hidden in a choice. Still they move forward, sometimes in blatant ignorance; but to them, as it once was to us, progress even backwards is still progress..right? Sure now we know truthfully it is not.
Once I began to take my walk with the Lord seriously, I realized that walking in complete self was not the way to be sufficient at all. It blocks the Lord's will for our lives. Walking in Self, permits us to decide that we know more than God; that we are on the same level with Him; that we know enough in the limited facts we have to make decisions that will alter our lives. Self-sufficiency operates apart from GOD not in concert with Him. That is not what He designed us for. Every human being on the face of the planet has social needs: acceptance, belonging, love etc..We also have an inherit need to know The Lord. He placed it in us.
So reader when you see your kid (s) going south, by all means talk with them, warn them, counsel them and pray for them. Then I invite you to lean into Our Heavenly Father that much more! He loves your company. Your prayers are sweet aromas to Him. Your worship of Him gives Him honor while lifting your soul from it's burdens. Don't allow self-sufficiency to rob you of the fellowship of Christ. Besides what better way to teach your child than by example?
Train up a Child in the Way he should go and when he gets old, he will Not part from it! (Book of Proverbs 22:6)

Si Sufficientiam.... What Really is Your Name? Pt. 1
Si Sufficientiam (Pt. 1)
The term is actually Latin for 'self - sufficiency'. I remember coming up how Bishop (my Mom) would constantly tell me that I needed to learn to be self-sufficient. Which meant do what needs to be done just because you see it undone before I tell you to do it. As a child I hated that term because it usually meant a lecture before and after the mention of it.
Now that I am a Mom I completley understand the whole thought process behind that statement. I find myself being cross at my husband and kids when I see something out of place. To me it's common sense that your shoes should be neatly placed on the shoe mat; or don't place your headphones or earbuds on the table (yuck); and of course leaving items on the floor. Who cares who placed it there? It shouldn't be there at all! Oh My GLOB!!! Some days it is enough to pull my hair out. Why? Everyone knows socks belong on feet not floors. Toys belong in a box not the floor or under my feet. ARRRGGGHHH
But before I have a melt-down, I take a deep breath and start thanking GOD for something...anything that will ground me. It really is not that important; Picking up after people is just in my job description. In the small print. Training people to pick up after themselves is necessary for the success of their futures.

Tender, Tender, Tenderness
For so long...I ran from home
I couldn't stand the sharpness in your tone
I didn't understand your lack of delicacy in correction
Nor did I care for allotment of none when
My errors rose
So I jumped in the wind, not caring where it took me
No plan of my own
Moving with the flow that was the strongest
Wasting alot of energy
Misplacing alot of love
But I never forgot the good at my center
It got harder to deny it's place
I'm older now
My fights are chosen with wisdom
Weighted by tenderness
Now I can love you for you
I can handle who you are
I can hear your love despite your tone
I am not crushed by your words
Tender are my thoughts towards you
Guided are my actions
Purposefully I enjoy our time together
Deliberately do my steps lead me home

Wisdom Pearl + Thought for the day
Son of Adam, Daughter of Eve..
Do not mistake your role. Do not think higher of yourself than you ought to; you are but dust and the Lord your God remembers that. As such it needs to be said:
Adam you are acting out of your place. The Lord does not need your belief in order to carry out His Word. It is, however, beneficial to you if you choose the side of belief. It will be counted in your favor.

We Have Still have So Much To Learn....
We need to learn to disagree...
I am a Christian and I have core beliefs that will not change no matter the challenge or argument. Just because I oppose someone's or some groups life style (s) doesn't mean that I HATE them.
As I have said before my job is to present the Life Saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. Nothing more nothing less. I respect that others have rights, opinions and the power to make choices just like I do.
I do not believe that anyone, including our government, has a right to punish those who are asking for religious exemption from certain acts that contradict their beliefs.
I most certainly don't believe that one group should be targeted for random or planned acts of violence because of their views or lifestyles. Every American citizen has the right to pursue their life as they see fit and weather the consequences of their actions either good or bad.
This weekend was marked by communion for me and many more who believe as I do; but for others it was marked by sadness, loss and unfathomable horror as the lives of their loved ones were taken so abruptly from them. We in the Christian community (no matter the denomination) must pray for the families of those left behind. Pray for a revival in our Nation and for the souls of the living who have either rejected Christ or just not committed to Him yet or worse living as a double standard.
We need to pray for those whose lifestyles are in direct contradiction to the Word of God. We need to model respect and courtesy to our neighbors, co-workers, affiliates and acquaintances. Returning to the practice of being our 'brother's keeper'.
As I said earlier we need to learn how to disagree and still live together with civility.

In light of the recent headlines, I felt a strong need to add my voice..so here it is:
On Friday June 10, 2016 the world was a little bit dimmer because of the senseless murder of Christina Grimmer, a beautiful up and coming pop singer; before the weekend is over 53 more souls will be victims of planned acts of violence.
No one, not even those I stand in disagreement with, should have to deal with acts of terrorism, violence, intolerance or hate. My family and I are in prayer for the families and survivors of these two separate deadly attacks.
What I hope doesn't happen is that any one group walks away thinking IT is the only target. We are American, Christians, Blacks, Whites, Gays and Straights and we are all targets. If we look at the mass shootings that have taken place thru out our (U.S.) history we will find some common denominators:
1. Gun possession is not regulated, policed or monitored consistently from state to state
2. Mental illness
3. Religious fanaticism
4. Hate
5. EVIL
We can't fight evil with slogans, banners, ribbons or shows of solidarity. It has to be fought on our knees. It has to be addressed through purposeful actions such as nationwide gun control measures. Most importantly America must return to her first love Jesus Christ.
As we welcome people of different ethnicities, religious practices and lifestyles we as a nation must not continue to pull away from our core. One Nation Under God...
Am I saying that if the folks in the night club had GOD then this tragedy would have been avoided? No..not at all. We live in a fallen world and sometimes bad things happen to good or not so good people. The Word of God says that it rains of the just and the unjust. Evil is not discriminatory and it doesn't really have a face nor does it play fair. It's time we call it for what it is...
My deepest sympathies to all whose worlds have been permanently colored by the loss of life and darkness that walks among us seeking to steal, kill and destroy. It is my hope that those who are still privileged to live that they will turn to Christ and partake of His offer of eternal salvation.
Our world is passing away and only what we do for Christ will last.

A lie is as a Lie does
A lie in a well made suit is still a lie
A lie in a nice pair of denim blues is still a lie
A lie smooth as new silk
Is still a lie
A lie that is consistent and strong
Is still a lie
A lie that is acceptable but still wrong
Is still a lie
But a lie that points its finger at truth and screams 'JUDGE'
Well that's actually correct

Irony
Wisdom does not flirt with ignorance
Nor does it share its bed with destruction
It does not eat with Apathy
Nor does it walk with indifference
Wisdom is light
Not manipulation
Wisdom is Salt
Not a slave
Wisdom eliminates bondage
It survives rejection
From the very ones it was sent to help
Yet it stands
Tall and true
Unaffected by the whims of man
Unhindered by his lack of respect
To all it still remains
Free, but worth the cost

Wisdom calls aloud outside
She raises her voice in the open squares
She cries out in the chief concourses
At the openings of the gates in the city
She speaks her words:
How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity
For scorners delight in their scorning,
And fools hate knowledge.
Turn at my rebuke;
Surely I will pour out my spirit on you
I will make my words known to you
Like it? There's more of that contained in its 66 books; try it

Evil, intolerance and immorality are not bound by the lines of color. They operate in any willing or unguarded vessel. They don't care about the make, the model, sex or status.
We should aspire to operate on that level; using our acts to the benefit of mankind not destruction.

You can enter God's Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. (Matthew 7:13 & 14)
I have a confession to make. I have an approval addiction..what can I say I love to be liked! I love to belong to a group/clan/posse or hang out club. I enjoy social comrade from card playing, to group cooking or just sitting around cackling like a bunch of hens.
This week however, I was faced with a serious question; one that would make the difference on the direction I would take my platform. If I choose wrong then it could be a career killing move. It could lead to alienation, public judgement, mass amounts of criticism and other unknown negative consequences. On the other hand if I choose the road most traveled then I might be able to enjoy prosperity, popularity, and an 'atta-girl' every time someone passed me by.
Of course the obvious choice was, is and always will be to take the road less traveled. That means that I will teach what I have learned about life's issues, social subjects, political travesties and the future of America as it lines up with God's Word. No subject will be off limits nor out of my 'lane' to address. As the Holy Spirit gives me clarity and inspiration I will share. Nothing more nothing less.
Does that mean that my audience will always agree? Some will some will not.
Does that mean that I will not welcome dialogue that may challenge my stance? Of course not! Dialogue is good and even if we have to agree to disagree we should still remain companions.
However if you (reader) ever find it necessary to do more than just 'hide -from feed' my post on Facebook or maybe delete your link to my blog for that particular entry, please do so. If you feel like you need to unfriend me because something I said infuriated you so...then in peace you should depart. Because if at anytime I am asked to choose between ____(fill in the blank) and the truth of Christ. I will always choose Christ.
If I never reach the million dollar status, or the New York best sellers list it is okay. I know a cloud of witnesses exist who are cheering for me in the heavenly realm.
My job as the salt of the earth is to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ thru practical living application and correction where necessary. My mission, the reason why I write, speak or blog is to show that it is possible to have a living, productive and vibrant relationship with God. Of course this will sometimes require me to bring hard honesty, compassion and straight forwardness that may turn some folks off. So much so that we must part ways.
It makes me sad but I will be okay and I will still speak the truth no matter how tough it is to hear. I will still point people to the Lord whether they want to acknowledge Him or not. I will still seek to honor Him with my life by using the gifts that He entrusted to me to encourage others into a relationship with Him.
I make no apologies and I have no regrets. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.
