Back in the day..
the groom had to "provide" for his bride before he could
think about consummating (google it)
Meaning he had to prepare a place for her to move in
Not move in with her...
He had to make provision for his wife
Not wait on her to get paid or get stamps...
Have a job in a honorable trade
We should probably return to that...
